Maurice Carbone
Dr. Maurizio Carbone
Maurizio studied aerospace engineering at Politecnico di Torino, from where he received his bachelor's, masters and PhD with honours. For his masters' thesis, he spent a period at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2016. In the same year, he started his PhD under Prof. Michele Iovieno, studying the dynamics of inertial particles and velocity gradients in turbulence. Within his PhD, he spent an extended period in the Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics group of Dr. Andrew Bragg at Duke University. He defended his PhD thesis in May 2020. Since April 2020, he is working in the group of Dr. Michael Wilczek as a postdoctoral researcher. His interests include turbulence theory and High-Performance Computing for fluid dynamics.
