Here is how to get there.
By Public Transportation
With the ICE (high speed train) via Kassel or Hannover to Göttingen. From the Göttingen station you can take a Taxi (5 minutes) or walk (20 minutes).
If you walk, you need to leave the main exit of the station and walk to the right. Follow the main street (Berliner Str.), which after the traffic lights turns into Bürgerstraße. Keep walking about 600m until you come to the Bunsenstraße. Turn right - you will reach the Scientific Meeting Center of the MPI-DS after about 300m.
By Car
Leave the freeway A7 (Hanover-Kassel) at the exit "Göttingen", which is the southern exit. Follow the direction "Göttingen Zentrum" (B3). After about 4 km you will pass through a tunnel. At the next traffic light, turn right (direction "Eschwege" B27) and follow the "Bürgerstraße" for about 600m. The fourth junction to the right is the "Bunsenstraße". You will reach our Scientific Meeting Center after about 300m.
By Plane
With the ICE (high speed train) from Frankfurt (FRA, approx. 2 hours) or Hanover (HAJ, approx. 1 hour) airports to Göttingen.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA):
There are two separate train stations at Frankfurt airport, one for regional trains and the other for long-distance trains. From both stations there are connections to Göttingen e.g. via Frankfurt/Hbf, Frankfurt Süd or Fulda.
By car, the journey from Frankfurt/Main airport to Göttingen takes about 3 hours.
Hanover Airport (HAJ):
From the airport, the S-Bahn (suburban train) departs every 30 minutes for Hanover's main train station. From there, ICEs and regional trains depart several times an hour for Göttingen. Travel time with the ICE from Hanover main station to Göttingen is approx. 30 minutes, and the last train departs at approx. 9 pm.
