Yong Wang

(personal profile)

Dr. Yong Wang is a group leader at the Department of Prof. Bodenschatz interested in biofluidics and biomechanics. He studied process equipment & controlling Engineering and applied mathematics at Xi'an Jiaotong University (China) and, in 2010, received his PhD degree (with distinction) in engineering thermal physics for his development of the lattice Boltzmann method as applied to thermoacoustics and PIV measurements for oscillatory flows. From 2011-15 he was a postdoctoral researcher at UC Irvine (USA), and investigated the turbulent flow in human upper airway with DNS. He then joined the institute as a research scientist in March 2015. His research interests are mainly in biophysics and biomedical engineering, such as heart modeling for personalised medicine and cilia coordinated flow.
