I am a physicist interested in the theoretical modelling of soft and active matter, with particular focus on biological systems. My current interests involve non-equilibrium self-organization induced by catalytic activity, which in the biological context is triggered by enzymes. I also have a background and an ongoing interest in the modelling of biological and biomimetic membranes.

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid (2012) and my Ph.D. from the Technical University of Berlin (2016). My doctoral work was conducted at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, where I also held a postdoctoral position until 2017, working with Reinhard Lipowsky. From 2017 to 2019, I was a postdoctoral fellow jointly at the University of Oxford and at Penn State University, working with Ramin Golestanian.
