Dr. Dimitar G. Vlaykov finished his undergraduate degree in mathematics at the University of Cambridge in 2006. He was selected for the first class of the Astromundus Masters course in astrophysics, which he completed in 2012 with a thesis on the 'Observable consequence of open inflation' at the University of Göttingen under the supervision of Dr. Thorsten Battefeld. His doctorate studies were completed at the same university under the supervision of PD Wolfram Schmidt in 2015 with a thesis titled 'Subgrid scale modelling of compressible magnetohydrodynamic turbulence: derivation and a priori analysis'. Currently, his work is centered around nonlocality and smallscale structure of incompressible hydrodynamical turbulence within the group of Dr. Michael Wilczek.
